Maintaining Your Home

Simple care tips to keep your Allo home in great shape and ensure a comfortable living experience.

Monthly & Seasonal Care

Routine tasks that keep your home running smoothly

HVAC Filter Changes

Change your air filter every 30 days (or as recommended) to maintain air quality and system efficiency. Standard filters are available at most hardware stores.

Test Smoke & CO Detectors

Test all smoke and carbon monoxide detectors monthly. Replace batteries twice yearly or when low-battery alerts sound.

Check for Leaks

Inspect under sinks, around toilets, and near water heaters for signs of moisture or leaks. Report any issues immediately to prevent damage.

Clean Dryer Vents

Clean the lint trap after every load and inspect dryer vents quarterly to reduce fire risk and improve efficiency.

Seasonal HVAC Prep

Before summer and winter, check that your HVAC system is working properly. Submit a maintenance request if you notice unusual sounds or poor performance.

Gutter & Drainage

Keep gutters and drains clear of leaves and debris, especially in fall. Report any drainage issues or foundation concerns.

Daily & Weekly Home Care

Keep It Clean

Regular cleaning prevents buildup and damage. Wipe down kitchen and bath surfaces, vacuum or sweep floors, and address spills promptly.

Manage Moisture

Use exhaust fans while cooking and showering. Wipe down shower walls after use to prevent mold and mildew growth.

Pest Prevention

Store food properly, take out trash regularly, seal cracks, and report any pest issues early. Prevention is easier than treatment.

Lawn & Yard Care

If specified in your lease, maintain the lawn, remove weeds, and keep outdoor areas tidy. Contact us if you need clarification on your responsibilities.

When to Call for Help

Submit Maintenance Requests

Report issues like broken appliances, plumbing problems, electrical concerns, or structural damage through the resident portal as soon as you notice them.

Emergency Contact

For true emergencies (active leaks, no heat/AC in extreme weather, gas leaks, electrical hazards), use the emergency maintenance number in your lease.

Document Issues

Include photos and detailed descriptions when submitting requests. This helps our team respond quickly and accurately.
